Classroom Communities

Our Montessori classroom communities—Aspen, Maple, Juniper, and Pine—are thoughtfully designed. Each community provides a nurturing and engaging environment tailored to the developmental needs of its age group. From the hands-on exploration in our youngest classrooms to the collaborative problem-solving in our kindergarten spaces, our classrooms support children as they build confidence, curiosity, and a strong sense of community.

Ages: Birth -18 Months

Our Aspen community serves children from birth to 18 months, providing a nurturing environment that fosters trust, exploration, and the earliest stages of independence. Rooted in Montessori principles, the Aspen classroom is carefully prepared to meet the unique developmental needs of infants. Low, accessible shelves hold simple, purposeful materials that encourage sensory exploration and fine motor development. The room is designed for freedom of movement, with soft spaces for crawling, climbing, and practicing gross motor skills. Responsive, trained guides build secure relationships with each child, promoting emotional security while fostering curiosity and discovery. In the Aspen community, infants are supported in their journey to develop foundational skills and a deep sense of connection to their environment

Ages: 18 months - 3 years

Welcome to the Maple community, where children ages 18 months to 3 years embark on an exciting journey of discovery and independence. This vibrant classroom is alive with curiosity and energy as toddlers explore materials designed to ignite their natural desire to learn. From mastering pouring and sorting to expressing creativity through art and music, every moment in Maple is an opportunity for growth. The carefully prepared environment encourages independence, with child-sized furniture and tools that empower children to take charge of their daily routines. Social connections flourish as little ones learn to share, take turns, and work together, all while building confidence in their own abilities. In Maple, every day is an adventure in joy-filled learning and exploration.

Much like our Maple Community, our Juniper Community offers children ages 18 months to 3 years a warm and inviting space to explore, grow, and build independence. This thoughtfully prepared environment is designed to meet the unique needs of toddlers, with hands-on materials that encourage curiosity and foster practical life skills. From washing tables to carefully arranging objects, children gain confidence as they engage in purposeful activities at their own pace. Social development is a key focus, as children learn to navigate relationships, practice communication, and develop empathy in a supportive setting. The Juniper classroom provides a calm and nurturing atmosphere where young learners can thrive as they take their first steps toward independence and self-discovery.

The Pine community is where children ages 3 to 6 engage in a rich, high-level Montessori education that inspires a lifelong love of learning. In this multi-age classroom, children explore hands-on materials that nurture their intellectual, social, and emotional development. The curriculum covers a wide range of subjects, including math, language, science, geography, and cultural studies, all presented in ways that captivate their natural curiosity. Each child progresses at their own pace, guided by highly trained Montessori educators who provide individualized lessons tailored to their developmental needs. Beyond academics, the Pine community emphasizes independence, critical thinking, and respect for others, creating a strong foundation for future learning and success. It’s a place where children are not just prepared for school—they are prepared for life
